Morrungulo is located in a palm fringed bay, and a 20-minute drive from the town of Massinga, North of Inhambane and approximately 550 kilometres from Maputo. The area has a stunning stretch of coastline, with its clear aquamarine sea and soft white sand. It has been voted one of the best beaches in Mozambique.
It is far from the madding crowds and offers an excellent destination for families, fishermen, honeymooners and divers. It is known for excellent fishing, and the famous Sylvia Reef offers unpatrolled diving where you can see an array of tropical fish, turtles, mantas and Spanish dancers to name a few.
Go for a long walk at sunrise or sunset or just sit and watch the waves. During the months of June through to November you will have frequent sightings of the humpback whales not far from the shore.
