Motlejoa Bed and Breakfast now a Motlejoa Guest House is situated in Butha Buthe, central to all access points for both local- and foreign travellers.

we are 9 km from the Caledonspoort Border post, we are close to Afri ski and Tsehlanyane national Park. If driving from Sani Pass these is the best place to rest after a long journey.We arrange daily tours to Liphofung cultural village, Afri Ski during snow season and Malealea.

Wether as a group or a family our local guides will help you experience Lesotho and feel like one of us.
Every Friday we prepare a special Basotho meal and organise traditional dancing which you guests can be part of.

The guest house offers eight en-suite rooms with double- or single beds. we also provide backpacker rooms for riders and adventurous tourists. as a group we can charge 150 per night, per person.

Basotho people are highly cultured and hospitable, the kind of atmosphere guests can expect at Motlejoa.

First they had not registered our reservation.Then they gave us a tiny dusty room, and no water in thebathroom which we had to share with three other rooms. Whereas I had reserved an en-suite. At last, we had water after asking for it twice in the afternoon, the manageress didn't bother to fix it before.The food was of poor quality. On the whole we were very disappointed.

Exeeded Expectations by

Nice clean Rooms, Friendly Staff. Was more than I expected. Overall Good. The not so good : the 1KM Sand Road to the venue is not ideal, and no supersport as advertised. Wifi was also unavailable. But will stay there again. Met our needs at the time.

If the only factor were the staff this would have a 4 star rating; they ate pleasant friendly and helpful.  The problems are with structural things, not major, but sufficient to make 2.5 more accurate.  I had a backpacker room, clean and comfortable, though no fan made it rather hot; shared toilet and shower was expected, but not having a lock or bolt is a little bohemian for my taste.  The electricity in the room went off twice during my 4 night stay. The meals are straightforward, but well-cooked and nourishing, but set out in trays so you need to be there early or they lose heat, and some may go - no rice, one meat gone, and no dessert one night.  If the structure can match the staff, however, the potential is good   Robin

The road to the guest house is uneven, rocky and the sign is only at the tar-road, there was no bath/shower water when we woke up, the rooms are very small and there was water on the floor not understanding where it came from. we did not have breakfast as we were late for our appointment.
