Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge

The Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge is situated on the Nteko Ridge overlooking a beautiful part of the world-renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The ridge provides a superb vantage across the Kashasha River Valley to the forested hill known as Nkuringo and the surrounding trees of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

We have two beautifully hand-crafted en-suite Cottages and six Virunga Terrace Rooms with shared bathroom and eco-toilet facilities. Low voltage electric lighting and paraffin lanterns provide light at night. The camp has a small restaurant where visitors will enjoy tasty, wholesome meals which are freshly prepared. Food is purchased locally where possible to benefit the community. Parking for visitors with their own vehicles is provided on site.

By virtue of the altitude of the camp and cool evenings the presence of mosquitoes are very rare. Nkuringo Gorilla Camp has become the first accommodation venue in Uganda to achieve a carbon neutral position; it is now 100% carbon neutral. We chose to do our part by offsetting all our carbon emissions for the past 12 month period resulting from burning of fossil fuels and biomass in our business travel, heating, cooking and lighting. We strongly feel that this is the right thing to do and appreciate that an aggregate of such actions around the world will help in achieving the climate change mitigation targets.
