The owners made sure that everything we could need was there- like wood and firelighters for the braai, milk in the fridge. The cutlery and glasses were high quality. To add to this, the cottage is on a farm, yet it takes only 5 minutes to walk to all the restaurants. It felt so peaceful. This is a beautiful place, highly recommended. As mentioned in the previous review, the cottage is fully equipped and lacks absolutely nothing. It is obvious that a lot of thought has been put into it and attention paid to the finer details - like having a torch and an umbrella hanging behind the front door. And fresh milk on arrival! The setting is absolutely beautiful and although the photos on the website is a true and just portrayal of the cottage, the gorgeous surroundings is hard to capture in words. My husband and I have a two-year-old little boy who absolutely loved being on the farm. It was such a delight to see how he enjoyed the dogs (although not sure the feeling was mutual!) and watching the horses. Anna offered help and assistance when required and it was nice to know that she was just next door if we needed anything. The location is also extremely secure with 24 hour security ? a big plus for any tourist visiting South Africa and feeling a bit nervous. We had a cottage with 2 rooms, nicely furnished, very clean, very cosy with a private patio. The entire facility lies in between a beautiful garden, the buildings are wonderfully restored. And everything within 5 minutes walking distance to the very center of Franschhoek!! Lovely house in a beautiful setting by James Taylor 26 January 2018 Everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay in Franschhoek. Just a short hop from the Main Street and the resteraunts and the wine tram ticket office. The little dog ? Scruffy ? kept us entertained with his tricks. We stayed in the queen room which was lovely and large and had a lounge which opened out onto a gorgeous garden. Also really enjoyed the odd dip in the pool. Lindi was a fantastic host.
