Onderkloof Wine Estate is situated in the historical wine region of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape.
The name Onderkloof means ?below the valley? and comes from the pass which leads over the Hottentots Holland Mountains. In earlier years, all goods which have been shipped to and from Cape Town, were transported via ox wagons over these mountains into the countryside. The ruts are still visible today and the pass has become a national monument.
The farm is 65 hectares large, of which 12 hectares are vineyards, while the remaining is covered by forests and meadows. Onderkloof has four self-catering cottages available, each well-equipped for self-catering with sheltered braai facilities.
Together with the beautiful view of the ocean and Cape Point, complemented by each unique African sunset, every stay at Onderkloof turns into a long lasting memory.
