Pebbles in Langezandt, Struisbaai

Just over two hours drive from Cape Town in South Africa, on a route that winds through the hills of the Overberg lies the small fisherman's town of Struisbaai. A place surrounded by safe pristine white beaches with a perfect turquoise sea, 8 kilometers from Cape Agulhas, Africa's Southernmost Point. This is also the place where the warmer water of the Indian Ocean and the colder water of the Atlantic Ocean meet.

Struisbaai offers plenty to do and see such as hiking trails, charters, fishing, learn to Surf, great seafood restaurants and many attractions in the area. Spend the long sunny days on the beach, enjoying jogging, surfing, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding, kayaking, or boating. Art shops and fresh fish shops on your doorstep make Struisbaai a wonderful holiday destination. A visit to the most southern town of Africa, Suiderstrand, will be a spiritual experience. You will witness the endless heaps of perfect white pebbles, been washed back and front, creating an amazing natural symphony of music in your ears. A picture-perfect moment at sunset is the shipwreck of the Meisho Maru, a Japanese fishing vessel that stranded in 1982, an awesome sight to see just a few hundred meters down the road from the most Southern tip of Africa. The historic and majestic Waenhuiskrans Caves located near Arniston will utterly amaze you, and it is only 35 kilometers from Struisbaai!

Pebbles Cottage is a modern-day fisherman's cottage located in the picturesque Langezandt Fisherman's Village in Struisbaai. The Village will truly take your breath away at first sight. Pebbles Cottage is a self-catering house, with an additional separate flat (cottage), designed and built perfectly in the original fisherman's cottage style, equipped to accommodate up to eight guests. The architecture of the Langezandt Estate homes is all based on local Fishermans' cottages with whitewashed walls and thatch roof. The house is located 230 meters from the beach and offers garden views. Access to the beach is easy, just cross the road and the 150 meters wooden boardwalk over an indigenous green area and you will find yourself on the pristine 1 kilometers private beach, part of an uninterrupted 27-kilometer beach.

The house features a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen offers clever cupboard space, a hob stove with oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. The back door leads into the courtyard and entertainment area.

The lounge is equipped with a fireplace, cosy and romantic for the cold winter months. It offers full DStv and a special folded couch bed to sleep or relaxes in the warmth of the indoor fireplace.

The main bedroom is en-suite with a shower and a big ?fisherman's bath? and has a queen-sized bed. The second room has two single beds and a separate bathroom with a shower. The two spacious bedrooms have built-in cupboards. The third bedroom is in the loft of the house, an ideal and adventurous place for children to enjoy.

The cottage is separate from the house and is perfect for teenagers, grandparents, or guests that would like a bit of privacy. The cottage has a bedroom with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower. It has a lounge/ kitchen area with a double bed sleeper couch that can be used for small children. There is a microwave, toaster, and kettle, but no stove.

The yard is securely walled and safe for pets and children and consists of an entertainment area with outdoor furniture, a braai, and entertainment area made perfect with an outdoor hot shower under the bright African stars. The garden is beautiful with a lavender bush and white pebbles theme. There is also an extra basin for cleaning freshly caught fish, especially for the keen fisherman to clean the catch of the day.

The garage can be entered via the courtyard and offers secure lock-up parking for one vehicle, although there is adequate outside parking for extra vehicles. There is washing facilities with a washing machine in the garage.
