The small and intimate Porini Bush Camp is a genuine mobile camp located within the award-winning Ol Kinyei Conservancy, offering an authentic high quality, low tourism density safari experience. This exclusive game-rich 17,500-acre wildlife conservancy has a diverse terrain of plains, forests and rivers, and is home to a broad range of species including the big cats. Guests will also have access to the Mara Reserve and the adjacent 50,000-acre Naboisho conservancy. The camp operates from 15 July to 15 October which is high season, when the wildebeest migration is in the Mara eco-system.
The camp provides guests with the opportunity to stay at a truly eco-friendly bush camp where there are no permanent structures and there is minimal impact on the environment. When the camp is taken down, the site reverts back to nature.
The camp has five double or twin tents and three single tents. There is a separate dining tent where guests enjoy high-quality meals prepared by the experienced camp chef. In the evenings the campfire provides a meeting point for guests to get together, relax with a drink and share the day's sightings.
Shared day and night game drives from the camp are in customised 4x4 safari vehicles with professional safari guides and spotters. Guests see a wide variety of wildlife within the Ol Kinyei Conservancy and also have access to game drives in the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy as well as within the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Located within the Serengeti-Mara eco-system, Ol Kinyei has pristine wilderness and breathtaking scenery. The land has an abundance of water sources that attract a wide variety of animals. There is a resident lion pride and several leopards have their territories within the conservancy. Cheetahs are frequently seen as are giraffes, Cape buffalo and elephants. Guests can get closer to nature on educational bush walks with Maasai guides, and bush breakfasts and sundowners are arranged at scenic points.
