The Porterville Hotel

The Porterville Hotel is located on Porterville's main street. It is about 140 kilometres from Cape Town and has a view of the Olifants River Mountains.This hotel has various room types and each has an en-suite bathroom. The double rooms include a double bed, the twin rooms have two single or three-quarter beds, and there are single beds in the single rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar. We have a refurbishment and renovation project being carried out at the hotel at present whereby all areas of the hotel are being upgraded both inside and out and we look forward to posting pictures of the new areas shortly.The Porterville Hotel is the value for money and very cheerful option for your stay in Porterville with the restaurant providing great pub food and snacks. Bookings are for room only but breakfast can be arrange on request. The location is right in the heart of the town and the outside areas get very busy on the weekends (Friday between 10am and 7pm, Saturday from 9am until 4pm). In the evenings though the town is extremely quiet and safe. Parking is on the street outside the hotel which is covered by CCTV, although Porterville is still one of old style towns with a low crime rate. A trip up and down the domestic streets will show most of the houses without fences or gates, a very welcome exception.Porterville offers a range of activities including the Groot Kliphuis and De Tronk Hiking Trail through the Groot Winterhoek Wilderness. There is an exciting Heuningberg 4x4 Trail, which takes about five hours to complete. This is also the ideal place for paragliding enthusiasts as the summers are dry and hot.
