The Rhino Coast Guesthouse is an upmarket, luxury bed and breakfast in the town of St Lucia which was first known as the River of the Sand of Gold; a name given to it by the early Portuguese explorers because of its golden beaches, sun and sea. It is in these magnificent and peaceful surroundings that you will find Rhino Coast Guesthouse; a tranquil escape for the discerning world traveller or business executive.
The modern house has an open-plan design flowing onto an outside entertainment lapa where true South African breakfasts are served around a communal dining table. Dinners or traditional braais can be arranged on request, but the town of St Lucia boasts a variety of restaurants; most of which are in walking distance from the guest house.
The interior of the rooms are uniquely and individually styled in warm African tones which come to life throughout the house. The elegantly furnished and air-conditioned rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The double room has a queen-size bed and the twin room has two single beds; both have en-suite bathrooms with showers. The two family rooms offer a queen-size bed and a single bed or bunk beds, and sleep four people each with full bathrooms. All our non-smoking rooms open into the garden areas leading to a sparkling swimming pool.
The Rhino Coast Guesthouse provides a perfect base from which to explore the vast and singular beauty of the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park; South Africa's first National World Heritage Site which offers pristine beaches, whale watching, turtle tours, fishing, prolific bird life and boat cruises on the 85 km estuary which is filled with hippos and crocodiles. St Lucia is also in close proximity of the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve to view the Big 5. Tailor-made tours can be arranged and all are bookings done in our office where we will supply the guests with a map of the surroundings and advise them on where to go and what to do.
