Located just outside Modimole in the Waterberg region lies Syringa Lodge, named after the wild Syringa trees found on the property. The lodge is situated on the beautiful Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate, making Syringa Lodge the perfect bushveld breakaway.
Syringa Lodge offers a great getaway for avid golfers and nature lovers alike. If you are not spending your days on the superb 18-hole championship golf course which has a par 72 layout, guests are free to roam the adjacent nature reserve - by 4x4 preferably. This 900-hectare nature reserve is rich in bird life as well as wildlife.
The thatched house can accommodate up to six people in three three double bedrooms and two beds on the landing. Guests can unwind after a long day by sipping sundowners on comfortable sofas in the outside lapa. Here you can truly feel part of the majestic surroundings as impala stroll by. No day would be complete without having a traditional South African braai to the background cries of the bushveld night owls, and guests are invited to use the fully equipped, undercover braai facilities.
Modimolle is the commercial centre of the Waterberg region and is situated in the heart of the bushveld, some 130 km north of Pretoria. The town is known for its delicious table grapes, which are available at the beginning of December. The Waterberg is also renowned for its variety of outdoor recreation.
Other championship golf courses in close proximity are Elements Private Golf Reserve, Zebula Country Club & Spa which was formally Mabalingwe Country Club, Euforia Estate, Legends Golf & Safari Resort, and Royal Northland Golf Estate. There are also several mineral spas in the area, with Weesgerus a mere 10 minutes' drive from Koro Creek. Others include Klein Kariba ATKV resort and Die Oog Hot Water Springs - Mookgopeng.
Besides the 900-hectare nature reserve adjacent to Koro Creek, there are several other nature reserves within a radius of 50 km, offering excellent birding and wildlife, including the Big 5. Donkerpoort Dam, a popular fishing location for carp, bream, black bass and barbel, is situated 11 km north west of the town. Other outdoor activities include horse safaris, hiking and nature trails, 4x4 adventure trails, sky diving, and visits to historical and archaeological sites.
