Savoy Hotel is one of Kimberley's oldest and most enchanting hotels. the hotel opened for the first time on 1 September 1897. It has lived through the diamond heydays, was re-built in 1901, and soon proved to be the best hotel in the city, as is still the case today.
In 1921 the Savoy Hotel was again upgraded, and as reported in the Diamond Fields Advertiser on Friday, 6 May 1921, So vast are the improvements made that one is at a loss adequately to describe them.
