Shellu Lodge

Set in a serene environment, the Shellu Lodge is where the blue and white colobus monkeys play and the air is filled with the tune of tropical birds as they flutter between the lush greenery.

Shellu Lodge is about 12 km from the Lushoto Township and about 11 km away from Kwemtonga. It lies to the north west of the Usambara Mountains and is located between two secondary schools; Saint Mary`s Mazinde Juu and Kifungilo.

The lodge offer affordable accommodation in the main house, in a private cottage and outside in a tent, on a bed and breakfast rate. Guests will enjoy the wonderfully fresh air from the Mkuzu rain forest, the cooling waters from the Mkuzu River and the picturesque views of the surrounding mountains.

Services include guest rooms with en-site bathrooms, laundry, complementary tea and coffee trays in each room, room service, a communal bar with fireplace, camping sites and a large garden; ideal for ceremonies.

Guests can busy themselves with mountain biking, trekking and visits to the nearby Maweni Waterfalls, the Shellu Lodge View Point, the Mkuzi Waterfalls and the Matondwe View Point.
