Simone's Cottage is a cosy cottage perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The unit features one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom consisting of a separate shower and bath. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove and oven, cutlery and crockery, as well as tea and coffee facilities, while the lounge is comfortably furnished with a fireplace that creates a warm atmosphere on those cold and sometimes snowy, winter nights. The cottage has a big garden and is situated next to the Gats Riverbank and is within walking distance of town.Although the town only has a couple of streets, a few guest houses and restaurants, a pub and a couple of quaint art galleries, the rustic charm of the town attracts tourists from all over. The Owl House and Camel Yard are worth a visit and consist of a Karoo-style cottage that has been transformed by its former owner, Helen Martins, into a glass-encrusted wonderland and statue-filled garden. For those looking for more sights and attractions, Graaff-Reinet is only a short drive away and offers a golf course, the Valley of Desolation as well as the Camdeboo National Park.

It was a cute little cottage, a plus was the good quality matress. Nicely furnished with a personal touch. The comments below should not be taken as a negative but would improve the place just a little bit more: Please: Review the directions on the website (Nieu Bethesda has got street names and very obious landmarks); Put a clear sign of the cottage on the outside; Replace the fridge as the thing doesn't make cold at all; Buy bigger braaier for cottage; Warn guests about the ants, which even got into the fridge; The kitchen was a bit sparsely equipped.

If you are of the down-to-earth, live life, love life, expect nothing, know what is 'enough', imbibe in boutique beer, enjoy giving, revel in Karoo ambience - then this is the place for you. As much as I am afeared of telling everyone for fear of 'touristing' this jewel, I must be honest and give and hope all who dwell here and at Simone's Cottage do too. Private well equiped by

We enjoyed our stay for two nights. The cottage is well equiped and private, yet withing walking distance of 'mid town'.

We definately book it again as a stay over.

Nice and warm on a chilly April weekend by

Simone's Cottage is the perfect size for a weekend stop over in Nieu-Bethesda. It has all the necessary kitchen appliances (toaster, microwave, kettle, etc) for self catering, as well as spacious bathroom with a bath and shower. The weather was rather chilly for an April, but the cottage was far warmer than we expected, which made for a cosy stay!

We loved the sunny stoep with a view, lovely linen on the bed, beautiful touches in the cottage ie vase of flowers, a warm throw on the couch, the fireplace; everything was just perfect!

We had a delightful stay at Simone's Cottage. The photo's do not do credit to this beautifully appointed, peaceful and comfortable cottage. The indoor fireplace heats up the entire place. We definitely recommend a stay here.
