Spekes Camp

This is a beautiful camp situated in a private area of the Maasai Mara, surrounded by wonderful indigenous trees overhanging the Olare Orok River. This is a perfect base for exploring the Maasai Mara, with the option of utilizing a fly-camp to visit other areas of the Mara.

We offer eight traditional safari tents with either double- or twin beds, and en-suite bathrooms with safari bucket showers. The tents are equipped with closet space, luggage racks, desks and chairs.

The camp's prime position provides great access to a number of good gaming areas in the Mara such as Musiara swamp, Rhino Ridge, Paradise Plains and the Leopard-rich Talek River. Unique walking safaris from Sand River across the Maasai plains to the Loita Hills, with traditional Maasai warriors as guides, can be arranged.

The Maasai Mara is well-known as Africa's greatest wildlife reserve, famous for the Great Wildebeast Migration and the Maasai people with their distinctive customs and dress.
