THE BUNGALOW RESENSIES (73 %) Delightful location by Liz Atkins 02 March 2017 The rooms are very well designed and furnished if a little on the small side. The communal areas are well though out, well furnished and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A very unpleasant confrontation by Ingrid Fichardt 27 March 2017 This is probably one of the most beautiful locations in SA. The property has been done up well and great food. The owners have chosen chefs and designers well.
HOWEVER. On the Friday night we had a very unpleasant experience with the owners. I have never been as insulted or spoken to in such an unpleasant manner. On the Friday night there is a "cocktail hour" which we were told about and would be a "few hours". On the night we were told it would stop at 10pm. We had a 5am start on the Saturday. The walls of our room were literally shaking. The manager was politely asked by ourselves when it would stop at about 10.30....
Well!! The owner, and his side kick came knocking on our door (me in my pink pyjamas) to explain that this is how its done in the rest of the world and being from the UK we would not understand. They suggested we leave (at 11pm) and would then refund. I declined, as it was very late.The discussion was very heated and aggressive and I further declined 50%. They both appeared to have had a rather lot of alcohol to drink. All in all a bit frightening.
He eventually came round and promised a 100% refund and to turn the music down. He attempted an apology. The music carried on fro another hour. And we did NOT get our refund. All in all a very frightening and unpleasant experience and was very glad to leave. They are a disgrace to all South Africans.
