Heidelberg is nestled between the Langeberg Mountains and the Indian Ocean along the Duivenhoks River in the Western Cape. The Doornboom Homestead was built in 1728. The town was established in 1855 around the majestic Dutch Reformed Church. Go on a Historical Walking Route to view historical landmarks. In the area are many trails and day drives for nature lovers.

Nearby are the World Heritage sites of Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve and Boosmansbos Wilderness Area. Grootvadersbosch has various mountain bike trails. Day drives to Tradouw and Garcia Pass are recommended. The Bontebok National Park and Heidelberg Bird Route are excellent for bird lovers. The coastal town of Witsand, about 40kilometers away, is a well-known whale watching site. The point across the Breede River at Malgas is not to be missed.

The Heidelberger Self-catering Guest Suite is situated in the quaint little heritage town of Heidelberg in the Western Cape. It is approximately one kilometer from the N2 Highway. The accommodation is about 40 meters from the road adjacent to a canal with lots of guinea fowl roaming there. DSTV and Netflix is available.

The Guest Suite is fully equipped for all your self-catering needs. A small library and games are available for you to browse at your leisure. A cot is provided to accommodate an infant. Braai facility with outdoor furniture is also available. Breakfast is available on request at an additional charge. A laundry service is provided upon request, for a small charge.

The Self-catering Guest Suite comprises two Guest Rooms. Each room is equipped with a fan, a heater, a hairdryer, blankets, and hangers. It is a spacious 53 square meters.

The Couples Room contains a queen-size bed, a dressing table, and a valet stand. The Family Room contains a double bed and a bunk bed.

The bathroom has a shower and bath with soap, shampoo and foam bath. The kitchen includes a full-size fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, and coffee machine. Teas and coffees are also provided.

Attractions to visit are Star Nation Art Gallery, Bright Yellow Antiques, Blue Crane and Skeerhok Farm Stalls, Delish Restaurant & Wine Shop, Heidelberg Nursery, Die Rooi Pot Coffee Shop, Golf Course, and Bowling Club.

This is a real accommodation find. Spacious, clean and fully equipped for self-catering. We found it so peaceful and inviting. Mark has created a homely spot we shall endeavor to visit again.
