Enjoy the tranquility of the African bush on your own terms and agenda, camping in comfort. Situated within a malaria-free area in the Eastern Cape, TiPi Bush Camp prides itself on being an environmentally friendly, eco-tourist destination and offers a unique setting in the Addo Afrique estate game reserve, bordering the Addo Elephant National Park on the R342. Accommodation is offered in three large 6.3 m diametre TiPi's, based on the American Indian-style. Each can accommodate up to 4 people on a self-catering basis; (12 people maximum in the camp). All you need to bring is your food, toiletries and clothing. Don't forget your drinks, cameras and binoculars. Included in each TiPi are bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery, sink, cleaning equipment, twin gas cooker, gas fridge, double bed and double sleeper couch. The sleeper couch separates to two single beds if required.Neat ablutions in close proximity to the TiPi's provide glass showers with hot and cold water, wash hand basins, flushing toilets and communal sinks. All hot water and lighting is by solar, there is no electricity on the site. You will need to light the gas fridge on arrival. Instructions are provided in a booklet in the TiPi. Remember, this is camping in the African bush. In addition to the large variety of game on the estate, all the other little creatures and insects exist. Aerosol insecticide is provided for those who have issues with natures little inhabitants. Each TiPi is secluded and offers beautiful panoramic views over a valley teeming with game. For the energetic, there are numerous walks within Addo Afrique, where you may roam un-escorted through a wide variety of non-predatory game like ostrich, giraffe, kudu, eland, bushbuck, nyala and impala.Fuel and shopping facilities are found at Patterson 8 km to the east, and Addo village 28 km to the west. The main gate to the Addo Elephant National Park is 15 km to the west. Be lulled to sleep with the sounds of the night bush and the call of the far away jackal packs serenading each other. Awake to the frenzied bird life at the crack of dawn while the morning mist lies low in the valley. Note that as we are located between a national road and a rail line, intermittent traffic can be heard in the distance. TiPi Bush Camp is the ideal place to be introduced or re-united with nature and launch a variety of adventures within the Addo region.
