Tumble-in is a lovely two bedroom self-catering cottage situated 150 kilometers north from Cape Town on the West Coast in Kersbosstrand, Dwarskersbos. It has beautiful sea views from the lounge and the stoep. It is located 75 meters from the endless pristine beach which is perfect for all day walking and cycling at low tide.
There is one air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both of the beds have electric blankets from June from the duration of winter. There is a full bathroom with shower, bath, toilet and basin. Hot water is available during load shedding. Bedding and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, a convection microwave oven and a four plate gas hob. It is fully kitted out with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, kettle, toaster and electric whisk. There is also an iron and an ironing board. T-towels, washing up cloths and dishwashing liquid is supplied.
The open plan living area is comfortably furnished and there is a four seater dining room table. There is DStv and a DVD-player into which you can plug an external hardrive or a flash drive with music or videos. There is good cell-phone reception.
The cottage is a No-Smoking zone but guests are welcome to smoke outside. The stoep is large and covered with outdoor dining facilities and has a built in braai. A braai grid, braai rack and braai tools are provided.
There is safe off-road parking for two vehicles.
In Dwarskersbos there are two cafe's which sell food and wine as well as a few restaurants, a hairdresser, an interior décor shop, a laundromat and a skincare salon. There is a supermarket in Laaiplek and a shopping mall in Vredenburg.
For bird watching the berg river estuary is 10 minutes drive away in Velddrif. The region boasts abundant bird life. Look out for pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, blue cranes, herons, the endangered oystercatcher and the European bee-eater. The Rocherpan Nature Reserve with it's bird hides is a 10 minute drive away in the direction of Elands Bay.
There are 4x4 routes in the area as well as many gravel roads for mountain bikers.
