Stay at Uitspan Holiday Resort and really relax in the peace and quiet of the Baviaanskloof. Set amidst spectacular scenery, this scenic wonderland of the Eastern Cape is perfect for nature lovers. We offer two self-catering cottages, one en-suite room and five shady Campsites with electricity, water, lights, a large outside braai area and clean ablutions.

A charming thatched lapa is available for the use of our guests. It comes complete with a licensed bar and an indoor braai, as well as a pool table for evening entertainment. There is a big screen TV for those who do not want to miss out on their sports. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available upon request. Beautifully handmade ox wagons, home-made jams, roasted coffee, honey bush tea, biltong, dried fruit and ice are for sale at Uitspan.

There is a formal hiking trail into the beautiful Houtkloof that takes about an hour and a half, with magnificent examples of indigenous tree and plant life such as white stinkwood, wild olive and wild fig. Opportunities abound for birdwatching and mountain climbing. Other activities include 4x4 trails and mountain biking. For cooling off on those hot summer days, there is a dam for swimming and a rope slide. For those interested in past cultures, there is San rock art to be seen in a nearby cave.
