Umkhondo Big 5 & Wildlife

Set against the majestic Langeberg Mountains along the world famous Garden Route in South Africa, the Umkhondo Big 5 & Wildlife offers an absolutely incomparable volunteer experience in practical knowledge and diverse hands-on encounters with the world famous Big Five.

Renowned for its spectacular scenery and mild climate, the Garden route boasts a pristine coastline, enormous wetlands, salt marshes, rivers and indigenous forests that are just bursting with diverse, beautiful and unique flora and fauna.

Overlooking the reserve, the big farmhouse offers a warm and comfortable accommodation for volunteers. Along with a brightly coloured interior, the farmhouse is well-equipped and offers a beautiful open fireplace and a small splash pool, where one can sit under the brilliant African night sky. Regular visitors to the house include rhino, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe and a range of antelope.
