Guests looking for a relaxing getaway in a quiet part of the Eastern Cape will not be disappointed when choosing to stay at Zonnenstrahl Guest House. It combines old-world charm with modern conveniences to ensure a pleasant stay for families or friends visiting Nieu Bethesda.

This lovely house has four spacious bedrooms, of which one has an en-suite bathroom and the other three share a second bathroom. The house also has a living room which consists of a comfortable lounge and a dining area. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for all your self-catering needs. Please note the house can be reserved in its entirety for 8 guests or if smaller parties wish to stay at Zonnenstrahl there is the option of Oupa Barend that sleeps from 3 to 6 guests: Oupa Alpha sleeps 2 guests only. All guests have the full use of the gardens and safe parking area within the gated yard. This is a spacious old world environment and a joy to stay in any of the options. Zonnenstrahl Guest House is the 2nd oldest home in the village of Nieu Bethesda.

Guests can spend their days exploring our charming little village by visiting a few of the shops and restaurants on offer. Return to the house to enjoy a braai on the veranda while appreciating the tranquillity of the hills and garden and the clear star-filled sky.

Please note that a minimum of three guests is required for Oupa Barend.

Big, beautiful house by

Set on the other side of the river in Nieu Bethesda is this lovely, old house. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, so didn't get to enjoy the braai facilities or garden. The garden is enclosed. It is well stocked with all the cutlery and crockery you would need and tea and coffee items. We were very glad to arrive to a house with the geyser switched on and the electric blankets on..... it was -4C the night we stayed. In winter we suggest that you buy some wood for the fireplace in the village and make a reservation at the Wahuis for supper.

I would not recommend this for people with allergies. Two of our group suffer from dust and damp allergies.
