LA FOLIE GREEN COTTAGE (89 %) Relax! by Glenn Kasner, South Africa 07 October 2013 My wife and I did a last minute booking after searching the internet for a remote , quiet getaway for the week end and boy did we get more than we had bargained for! Just over an hours drive from home we arrived at La Folie Green Cottage, to be met by Mavesh who handed us the keys and explained where everything was. It was like arriving in the middle of the bush with the sound of the nearby river and what sounded like thousands of frogs. We unpacked, poured ourselves a complimentary sherry, and spent the rest of our week end relaxing. Believe me, it is so quiet inside once you have closed the doors the feint hissing sound from the gas fridge is the loudest sound one hears!
Saturday morning we enjoyed breakfast on the stoep listening to what appeared to be hundreds of birds in the surrounding trees. Absolutely wonderful.
Anita and her husband have paid attention to the minutest of detail, to the point where I would quite honestly say that many of our 4 and 5 star hotels could come and learn a thing or two. Never before have we stayed over at a similarself catering that has been as tidy and organised as this and the fact that there is NO electricity was just the cherry on the top. Beautiful surroundings and well presented. The place was very clean with all the things in place, in short we come again soon. Peace and Quiet by Ingrid Niebuhr 29 April 2017 Our stay was more than just amazing. Arriving at the cottage and hearing the stream was the first highlight. Having the fence was also a bonus, just to make sure the fur friends were safe. We lay in the sun, in the river, had a swim or two, star-gazed and just listened to the nature. The cottage is pretty much equipped with whatever you need, eventhough there is no electricity. We will be coming back! a lovely tranquil environment by Ian Mcdonald 16 October 2017 we were booked in the green cottage but given the river cottage. it appears that this is the better of the two. on the advert on the website only the green cottage appears. everything worked, there was a lovely inside fireplace with a good pile of dry firewood. in the kitchen there was one missing item being a teapot Serenity at Sunset Cottage by Brendan Harding 26 September 2018 Booked at the last minute, not our usual sort of break ... we loved it. Comfortable, private, all the essentials for a self catering stay provided and views to die for. The Grotto/Secret Garden/Hidden Braai area was a highlight. (once we discovered it.) The house was spacious and contained everything one would need for a perfect getaway. We loved the views and the sounds of the peacocks calling.Our fur children loved exploring the big garden which was securly fenced. Will definitely go back again. LA FOLIE GREEN COTTAGE
