Situated in the Winelands between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, Acara is nestled in a valley called "Happy Vale" amidst scenic vineyards with beautiful views of the Helderberg Mountains. There are 4 exclusive cottages - Acara can sleep up to 12 people. Peaceful and quiet, all rooms have heating/cooling, high speed, wireless internet and ipod facilities. All are normally offered on a self catering basis - because of the fully equipped kitchens (and all the excellent restaurants in the area!). Fiona offers exceptional hospitality and can offer suggestions on day trips, restaurants and things to do in the region.All units are all beautifully appointed, each with double doors leading onto a private terrace or deck area. They all have beautiful views to the sparkling heated swimming pool, large gardens, paddocks and of course to the mountains beyond.

Peaceful by

We had a very nice and peaceful stay at Acara. The suite was beautiful and more than we expected (under floor heating and heated towel rail was a big surprise!). The owners were very friendly and helpful. Even though we weren't there much during the day, the evenings were quiet and we were never bothered by noise either from the other suite or the main house.

Acara is ine of the best locations we have ever been in South Africa. Fiona and Dave are perfect hosts, present when you need them. The cottages, the garden and the pool, all in very good condition and well maintained. A nice scenery with the surrounding mountains. We will stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

Lovely grounds and views by

We enjoyed our stay at Lavender cottage. We are a party of 3 adults and cottage met all our needs Lovely views across gardens and paddocks. Easy access to Stellenbosch and attractions of the area Stellenbosch square handy for food shopping etc.
