Agama River Camp

Agama River Camp

Solitaire, Khomas, Namibia
Lodge from R 1,080
R 1,080

Agama River Camp began as a campsite but has recently expanded to include comfortable rustic bungalows. The bungalows have the option of sleeping on the roof under the Namibian sky where guests can watch the colours change on the Naukluft Mountains when the sun bids farewell to another stunning day.

The camp is situated around a dry riverbed on the valley floor, with the Naukluft Mountains to the east looming proudly above everything. Despite being so remote, the camp is able to provide all the comforts of home and a surprising range of facilities for relaxation when not exploring the surrounding area. Not least amongst these is the stunning swimming pool and a very practical shelter from the sun, while the main building houses the cosy bar, an excellent restaurant and a large viewing deck.

The opportunities for exploration will overcome most guests who may find themselves hiking or driving in the nearby mountains or visiting the all-consuming Sossusvlei dunes and Deadvlei not far away.

AGAMA RIVER CAMP REVIEWS (77%)
Amazing camp in an amazing place by

Perfect. Staff, camp zone, the sunset on on the terrace.

Nice concept lacks personal touch by

Agama has a great setting with lovely sunset and sunrise views from your own rooftop deck. They even give you an option to sleep outside under the stars. Which is all wonderful! But, the place is very sterile - my husbands comment was it lacks a woman's touch. For example a nice pool but no sun loungers or even chairs to sit on around it. The sleeping bags given to sleep outside couldn't zip closed. Marco was on duty at dinner and was friendly and chatty while the lady on duty in the morning was short with everyone and behaved as though she was doing us all a favour. Which left us leaving with a sour feeling of the whole experience.

Nature & wild Animals by

Remember to book your meals at the restaurant 10. DAYS in advance to avoid starvation!!!! No wifi available.

Establishment Response:

We would like to thank you for your review.

We normally have wifi at bar/reception area, however if and on rare occasions weather conditions or technical problems in the remote area cause problems.

We do advertise that all meals must be pre-booked as we don't have a shopping mall around the corner and supplies have to be ordered well in advance from either Swakopmund or Windhoek some 280km away.

Kind Regards
Suzanne

Unique beauty of the barren landscape by

Loved the friendly staff, neat facilities. Management and catering staff went the extra mile to best meet our requests. Would recommend that rubbish bins be equiped with animal proof lids in order to prevent emptying of bins at campsites during nightime.
