Aloes Guest House is situated in the small town of Pitseng Ha Tau which lies in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains. An oasis of peace and calm in the midst of wild nature, Aloes combines comfortable, spacious accommodation with the renowned hospitality of the Basotho people. We offer bed and breakfast-style accommodation in beautiful stone and thatch cottages, situated amongst lovely flower gardens. We also cater to backpackers with smaller, simple traditional rondavels and camping is available for those seeking a more rustic adventure.
The main building of Aloes is a classic Colonial-style sandstone house, dating back to the 19th century, which has been converted into a restaurant and solarium where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinners ranging from braais and pub fare to very special African-Indian fusion and traditional Basotho meals.
Aloes Guest House overlooks the Drakensberg if you prefer epic mountains rising to over 2,850 metres. The gardens at Aloes are perfect for picnicking and swimming in the pool and the spacious and impeccably manicured grounds offer a wonderful setting for weddings, parties, barbecues, staff parties, family gatherings, and conferences.
We aim to offer a range of activities for visitors to Lesotho and the region is famous for its natural splendour. Hikers, mountain bikers, quad riders, and horseback riders will find many peaks and valleys to explore. There is also a rich cultural history in the region and activities include guided tours and treks to an ancient San cave decorated with rock art, village visits to traditional African rondavels, performances by local choirs, and dance troupes.
