Arvut Equestrian Self-Catering is a charming smallholding located in the Hout Bay Valley, outside Cape Town, South Africa.
Hout Bay is well known for its beautiful scenery, harbour and world-class restaurants. It is also a world surfing destination, and Chapman's Peak Drive which runs from Hout Bay in the direction of the Cape of Good Hope is one of the world's most scenic mountain drives. Hout Bay offers easy access to both Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, including walking trails through the Table Mountain National Park. The business is run by friendly family hosts - the Harosh family and the Pick family.
The Self Catering accommodation includes four rooms in the main house as well as two additional cottages. The two host families live in two additional private cottages on the smallholding. The main house is the center piece for the entire accommodation experience and includes a communal swimming pool and panoramic views of the equestrian paddocks, and the Hout Bay valley, part of the Table Mountain National Park mountain range. Two of the four rooms in the main cottage are en-suite while the others have separate bathrooms. The house has a wonderful centralized living room for the socialization of the guests. The two cottages are behind the main house, offering privacy and private patios, yet still allowing access to the pool. The equestrian centre can arrange activities for guests such as riding lessons and outrides along the river, or to the beach, dunes, forest and mountain. The equestrian centre and self-catering accommodation also host dedicated equestrian workshops with an emphasis on natural horsemanship, liberty, straightness, and training.
