Baraza Resort and Spa

Baraza is an exclusive boutique resort and spa located along the Bwejuu beach. With just 30 villas, this stunning fully inclusive resort evokes the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans.

There are 14 one-bedroom villas and 15 two-bedroom villas, as well as one Presidential two-bedroom villa. All the villas are designed to characterize classic Swahili architecture featuring dramatic arches, cement benches and intricate hand-carved cement decorations. The spacious villas feature luxury interiors as well as spacious terraces and private plunge pools.

Our chef has designed a menu which features the very best produce that the island has to offer. We are inspired by Arabic, Indian, Persian, Asian and Swahili flavours using the local spices for which the island is famous for. Every evening features a different influence showcasing the islands produce and spices.

The Frangipani Spa is an oasis featuring its own lap pool with underwater music, indoor- and outdoor relaxation rooms, the Sultans bath, a yoga center, a fitness center and a tennis court. In this beautiful setting, enhanced with candlelight and spice-scented aromas, you can enjoy a variety of treatments and therapies that are all aimed at relieving the stress and tension of modern-day living.

Baraza is dedicated to ensuring that all our younger guests have a wonderful experience in Zanzibar as well. There is a fully equipped Kids Club with a variety of toys, games and activities perfect for the kids. There is also a Waterclub that is ideal for teenagers, a natural meeting point right on the beach, with a lounge area and professional instruction in a range of fun activities.
