Berghaven Self-catering Cottages are situated in the peaceful Champagne Valley, just 25 km from Winterton and surrounded by some of the highest and most beautiful mountain scenery in South Africa. Come and enjoy the invigorating hikes or relax around the pool and get in tune with the peace and tranquility of this magnificent countryside.Enjoy our three cascading dams, forest and open spaces for the kiddies to play and ride their bikes. Have fun in the playground with swings and trampolines. Enjoy the farm-style countryside with us at Berghaven. There are various restaurants and hotels nearby, as well as shopping facilities for basic necessities.We offer eight self-catering cottages that can accommodate between two and six guests. Our self-catering cottages are equipped with bed linen, heaters, crockery and cutlery, a fridge, stove topped oven and microwave. The cottages have outdoor braai facilities and they are serviced daily. DSTV Hotel Package available in all the cottages, guests are welcome to bring their own smart code and decoder if they wish to have full DStv.We also have three self-catering flatlets/bedsitters. A room with a double bed, en-suite toilet and shower, kitchenette and barbeque facilities. They are small but comfortable and fully equipped, ideal for a few nights stay or on a budget.On a day when relaxing is not enough, why not take a drive to the Battlefields, experience some of South Africa's rich history. Or visit the Valley Bakery, where a variety of home baked goods are on offer. Sit and enjoy a fabulous breakfast while viewing some of the lovely local artwork. For the more adventurous, visit Four Rivers where activities such as river rafting, quad biking and the exhilarating canopy tours await. In the area you can go swimming, walking, bird watching, fishing, hiking, climbing, and horse riding. Across the way is an award winning golf course at Champagnes Sports. Or for that special occasion, book yourself a helicopter ride over the mountains.Access to the Valley is very easy off the main highway, the roads are all tarred and in good condition, no 4x4 required!Please note towels are supplied in the cottages, just not for the pool.

Very nice by

Us, a party of five pensioner siblings enjoyed staying at your accommodation. The house was spacious, the grounds were nice and well kept. We remembered that the last time we were at Berghaven, six years ago, there were animals roaming the grounds like goats, chickens and impala. We missed them this time. We enjoyed the dams and the beautiful view of the mountains.

It was a splendid and enjoyable weekend that we experienced and we will for sure return for more.

Chalet was clean, neat and nicely decorated. I understand that space is a bit of issue, but at times we felt that we were a bit too close to our neighbors. Although everybody was quiet, a little privacy in the form of some screen between chalets would be a huge plus. Also a canopy in front of the sliding doors could be a huge improvement especially in times of rain and snow... which we had. Cleaning services everyday was a huge surprise and most welcome! Thanks for a wonderful week, and we'll definitely visit Berghaven again!

Beautifully decorated, neat, cosy + well-equipped cottages on a stunning piece of land close to the mountains. Gorgeous views, a little dam + nature all around. We loved our weekend getaway + will be back.

We loved our stay here, and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The unit was clean and serviced each day, even though we only stayed the weekend. The facilities were great, with plenty for the kids to do. The dams are well stocked and the fishing was great, even for the little ones.

Thank you for the little things, dishwash liquid, dish cloth, pot scrunch, toilet spray, hand wash, doom, broom, pots and pans etc. Little bit of home away from home... very pleasant stay and thanks for catering for the kids as well... Was lovely.

Little piece of heaven by

The picturesque view from the lakeside cottages was stunning. We could even enjoy a cup of coffee in bed while admiring the view through the large sliding doors.

We've had a lovely stay in Chalet 4 - 2 Bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The unit is fully equipped and we could watch the rugby test as well in our chalet. I can recommend staying at Berghaven

Lovely stay by

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Berghaven. The cottage was well equiped and very welcoming. By the time we arrived in the evening, our heater was already on, warming the room on an especially chilly night. The owners also brought us extra wood for a fire when the power went out because of load shedding. All in all it was truly a wonderful stay and we shall definitely want to visit again.

We love our stay at Berghaven Cottages. It was close to all the places we were interested in visiting and the views were amazing. Loved the fire place in the room and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.

The location by

Friendly welcome. Everything was clean and in working order. When there was an issue it was felt with in a prompt and efficient manner. The surroundings were stunning and we were close to a lot of different activities.
