The Berg River Resort is located in the Paarl Valley, just 60 km north east of Cape Town, perfectly positioned for exploring the Boland, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Winelands. The resort offers various water sports in a tranquil setting and is located close to famous wine estates, country golf courses, shops, and excellent restaurants. Situated on the banks of the Berg River, the resort offers a tranquil setting as well as activities for children of all ages. There are approximately 150 partially grassed stands for caravans and tents, most with 15 amp electrical outlets, while the self-catering family chalets cater two to six people. These range from bachelor-style chalets for two people to two-bedroom units. Berg River Cafe provides essentials as well as meals, and catering for small, private functions and group bookings can also be arranged. Please note that some of the facilities will be closed for the winter from May till end of September.Please note that we cater for couples and families (parents with school going children) only.Due to the ongoing drought in the Western Cape the water level in the river has dropped significantly to the point that the river has stopped flowing all together . This will be the situation till we receive enough rain for the authorities to release water from the Berg River Dam. Berg River Resort and the adjoining farm have no access to Municipal water. The use of our own alternative water sources from boreholes and the river means that the pools and water slide will continue to operate during this summer.The water restrictions which apply for Municipal water also apply to clients water use at the Resort. This is to ensure that every effort is made collectively to reduce water consumption and comply with Government regulations.
