Situated in a small riverine forest, Caprivi Mutoya Lodge and Campsite lies on the banks of a tranquil backwater of the Zambezi River, approximately 24km east of Katima Mulilo, Namibia. Mutoya is the local name for ?Waterberry Tree?, owing to the presence of these trees found along the shores of the lagoon. Surrounding the lodge are ancient Jackalberry Trees (African Ebony) as well as numerous other indigenous trees, which are home to squirrels, monkeys, a large variety of birds and other small species. Due to the quiet waters of the hippo pools there is also a profusion of water birds, which the Caprivi is renowned for.
Facilities on offer includes a bar and restaurant, small seating area with DSTV, books, games and access to WIFI. Surrounding the restaurant is a large wooden deck, with a fire pit, offering stunning lake views. There is also a small swimming pool for those wishing to cool off on sweltering hot days.
A variety of accommodations include self-catering en-suite custom-built luxury tents, self-catering chalets, and a campsite, where four basic safari tents are situated. Bookings can also include meals but for those on a room only basis, delicious meals are available in the restaurant. Please note that these have to be booked in advance.
The lodge is powered from the national grid (220V/50HZ), solar and gas.
Activities include: Boat cruises, fishing, birding, floodplain drives, canoeing, nature walks, mountain bike hire, village walking tours and sunset cruises.
