Having been one of the originators of the Country House movement in the 1980's, Richard and Mouse then travelled overseas working and absorbing the 'foodie' world. Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse was opened - an intimate gourmet getaway.

The farmhouse offers warm mohair blankets and crisp cotton sheets.

There is a dining room as well as a fireplace in the lounge.

The farmhouse offers vegetables, freshly caught trout, local cheeses, homemade breads and fresh herbs.

It also offers a trout-filled dam.

You can choose the right wine from the underground wine cellar and prepare your senses for great tastes and flavours.

This is a great setting with splendid views of the mountains and crystal clear streams and waterfalls.

We are tucked away in the beautiful Kamberg valley close to Giant's Castle Nature Reserve. All the normal mountain pursuits such as swimming, walking and hiking are available.

Cleopatra is the ultimate in peace, tranquillity and solitude.

Good times! by

This was a return visit for us, and this time we brought friends with us! The staff are really good here and you feel very welcome to the hotel. The rooms are unique and quirky, but stylish and comfortable. The real reason to visit Cleopatra Mountain Farm is the food, which is superb! and excellent value for money. I look forward to going back to Cleopatra's soon. Another highlight was the helicopter flight from the gardens of the farm and up and over the berg.
