CopperwingHaenertsburg, Limpopo, South Africa Guest House | (POA) |
The Copperwing Guesthouse is a historical building, built in the 1890s, and used as a military hospital during the Magoeba and South Africa (Anglo-Boer) wars. Nestled on a hill only a kilometer outside of the scenic village of Haenertsburg, it's a tranquil retreat that offers views of the Magoebaskloof mountains, and makes a perfect getaway, whether it is for hiking, writing retreats, or bird watching.
Sleeping a total of 19 across 7 self-contained units, we are well set up to cater for groups or extended families, and have a range of options for both privacy, or shared space. Please feel free to enquire with the configuration you are looking for, and we will make a suggestion for the best room given your needs. We also have specials for weekly stays, writing retreats, and group bookings.
You can even bring your fur babies! Dogs are welcome at Copperwing, and there is a fenced garden. If you let us know in advance, we can organise a dog bed and blankets.
We are located on a 5ha smallholding with trees to climb, and plenty of corners for kids to explore. The village is a leisurely 10-minute walk, with restaurants, coffee shops, and local art on display.
We are only 5 kms away from the Ebenezer dam, which is a safe place for swimming, and also great for fishing, canoeing, and other water sports. You can visit the Yacht or Rowing clubs, or bring a picnic to one of the many inlets. It is a wonderful way to spend the day, and hosts a number of sporting events throughout the year, including the Ebenezer Mile.
