This old Karoo home, circa 1856, has been created into a small 'boutique-type' accommodation. It is centrally situated in Graaff-Reinet, the Gem of the Karoo.

Our guest house, named Aa'Qtansisi, is derived from the authentic, original Khoisan language meaning 'we welcome you'. Dating back 350 000 years ago, the Khoisan were the first human inhabitants in Graaff-Reinet, and it has been speculated that Graaff-Reinet may well be the origin of mankind.

Be prepared to be spoiled and delighted with personal attention and unique creations of décor. We are sure that Aa'Qtansisi will become your first choice of accommodation whenever you pass through Graaff-Reinet.

A delightful establishment. Warm, welcoming and good value. The most fantastic breakfasts! The only reason I haven't rated it a 100% is because the air conditioner/heater was not working and it snowed.

This guesthouse truly does live up to the expectations, and beyond, that are created from reviews and pictures. They deserve 5 stars in my book. Ria and Pierre have paid attention to detail and all the little extras truly make for a memorable stay. Next time, I'd love to stay here with that 'someone special'.

Fantastic Experience by

Often booking online pictures and review are better than reality - in this case my expectations were surpassed! What a lovely guesthouse and warm friendly staff. We stayed in the French Room - and loved it. A quick walk down to great little shops and resturant called "Polka" where we had yummy pizzas for dinner. I will definite recommend Aa'Qtansisi guest house for mid break between JHB and Plett/Knysna. Breakfast was delicious set in an antique styled dining room.
