Allegro Guest house is situated in the quiet town of Prieska, in the Upper Karoo in the Northern Cape. The town is nestled between the Doornberg Mountains and the mighty Orange River. There are five lovely rooms that can accommodate up to four guests. Every room has a refrigerator, a kettle, a microwave, a toaster and a split unit. Coffee, tea, sugar, rusks and milk are provided. Breakfast is available as self-service and includes; cereal, milk, fruit salad and yoghurt, muffins, bread, jam and cheese. Dinner can be pre-booked, a day in advance.

But what we missed were some greens in the courtyard (a few pot plants maybe?) and a bit of atmosphere in the unit itself that was kind of barren. Not really a place for holidaying, just a quick overnight.
