Situated on 440 hectares of farmland south of Alberton, the Arboretum Nursery and Guest Farm is a wholesale and retail nursery established by Otto Brandmuller in 1936. The Arboretum, which is Latin for trees, specializes in growing a large variety of trees, shrubs as well as other plants for your garden.
The ideal getaway from the restless life of the city. Spend a relaxing weekend at one of our guest cottages, where you can enjoy a walk or horse ride through the forests and experience our flawless bushveld. There are three walking trails ranging from 40 minutes to three hours and braai and picnic facilities available for the day visitor.
Otto Brandmuller spent 44 years planting trees and it was estimated that when he died, at the age of 92, he had planted more than six million trees. His son, Ernest took over as forester and horticulturist and today the Brandmullers are still one of the leading nurseries in the Vaal Triangle.
The town of Alberton is unique with a long interesting history; historical heritage sites can be explored and discovered on one of the many tours offered. There are also a variety of shopping centers, libraries, clinics, hospitals and entertainment facilities available.
