Arniston Lodge is a quaint traditional guesthouse that gives the guest the opportunity to relax and offers a base to explore the tranquil village of Arniston and other surrounding villages.
The Lodge is situated just a few minutes' walk-away from various of Arniston's endless white sandy beaches, hotel, harbour and the historic fishing village of Kassiesbaai. Arniston Lodge provides sleeping facilities for eleven guests, hosting three double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a large private open plan studio room with a double bed, one single bed and a sleeper couch. Comfortable accommodation upstairs also offers partial sea views, of the Arniston dunes and the fishing village of Kassiesbaai.
Bedrooms four, five and six are downstairs and adjacent to the garden and pool area where sun worshipers can relax on recliners or read under the shade of the Lapa or make use of the upstairs sundeck. All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom, fan, safe, wardrobe, coffee and tea facilities and free Wi-Fi internet access. Bedroom two and six have 19 channel satellite TV or guests can relax in the lounge area with full Dstv, overlooking the pool. Guests can also make use of the sparkling swimming pool and arrange to go on a 4x4 sunset drive to the rustic thatched whitewashed cottages of Kassiesbaai, the huge tidal cave chiselled out of the sandstone cliffs and Struispunt in the nature reserve.
There are various warm white sandy beaches within walking distance, featuring Roman beach which is popular with surfers. Arniston's coastline also offers excellent fishing and hiking opportunities. Other areas/aspects of interest are the many bird species in the area, Southern Right whale spotting from June to December, the southernmost tip of Africa at L'Agulhas, with its unusual lighthouse, the shipwreck museum at Bredasdorp and the De Hoop Nature Reserve, an undisturbed veld populated by birds, Bontebok and other animals and the venue for South Africa's Whale Trail, a pleasurable five-day hike. Furthermore, De Mond Nature Reserve with its Estuary, which is unique to this area, is situated between Arniston and Struisbaai. The lodge is pet-friendly.
