Surrounded by mountains, river streams with weeping willow trees and a variety of flowers in full bloom, you will find the peace and tranquility you are looking for.
In the late afternoon a variety of wild buck feed on the lawns surrounding the property. Frogs will break the silence of the approaching evenings with their chirps and be awoken by birds announcing the start of a brand new day. Nature at its best!
De Oude Meul Self-Catering Country Lodge features 6 different types of rooms suited to accommodate 48 guests in total. The accommodation ranges from twin rooms, double rooms, luxury suites to two bedroom self-catering apartments.
Block A & B: Classic accommodation for 2 guests. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, bar fridge, microwave oven, kettle, TV, coffee & tea facilities, safe, dresser with hairdryer, plates, cutlery and cups & glasses.
Each room has its own private outside veranda to enjoy your meals and drinks.
Block C: Self Catering units to cater for all your needs. Two bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms, full kitchen and lounge area. These units also have a sleeper couch to accommodate 2 children under the age of 10. Two large sliding doors lead to your private balcony equipped with a BBQ area and breathtaking views of the surrounding nature.
On-site facilities include 2 sparkling swimming pools, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, secure parking, conference facilities, Wi-Fi, 4x4 routes, hiking trails, BBQ areas and a few friendly dogs to keep you company during your visit.
Small dogs will be permitted as long as they are on a leash when walked around the lodge property.
Many tourist attractions are located close by to keep you occupied for a few days. The Swartberg Pass which has been described as the most beautiful pass in Africa is an absolute must for first time visitors and only a 20km drive from us. The Kango Caves and a variety of ostrich farms are located in the close vicinity with a 10 minute ride to Oudshoorn through the beautiful surrounding valleys.
