The Old Showgrounds Guestrooms is situated in Colesberg on the premises where the Colesberg Agricultural Shows used to be held on the outskirts of town.
The rooms are built on the old rugby field of the showgrounds and are surrounded by older buildings that used to be part of the showgrounds. Our neighbors are a church (The Better World Foundations ? otherwise known as Churchnet) and horse stables that are still used as an overnight stop for racehorses and the like.
Our rooms are all on-suit next to one another in one building. All the rooms have a double bed and one single as well as a small bar fridge (not stocked), a kettle and a microwave. There is also coffee/tea available in each room. The bedding is all white, feather duvets and two pillow per person.
In winter we have hot water bottles and fan-heaters for the guests. In the summer a normal fan, as we do not have air conditioning yet. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, basin, and toilet. In front of the rooms is a big lawn which is also the parking area. This allows for big vehicles, trailers and or caravans to turn with no effort. We do not have completely closed, fenced in lockup parking available yet.
The area is very open spaced and for some people feels remote. It is a very safe area and offers a very farm like environment surrounded by big Blue Gum trees.
