Emilie's Garden Home

Emilie's Garden Home is a private and secure self-catering cottage in the pretty and posh suburb of Eastcliff in Hermanus. This house was built in the early 1970s and has been in the same family for three generations. The house has been renovated but the original Oregon Pine floors, doors, and a lovely fireplace have been retained.

The house accommodates six guests and comprises three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. This room also has an old stable door leading to the garden. The second bedroom has two single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, toilet and basin. The third bedroom has a brass double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.

The living area has Coricraft couches, multiple armchairs, a fireplace, flat screen TV with Netflix, and free fiber optic internet. The French doors lead to the native, water-smart garden. The spacious dining area has a large table with six chairs and a Welsh kitchen cabinet, and it leads to a kitchen that comes with a Bosch fridge-freezer, Smeg gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster and an electric frying pan. is equipped. There is a separate sink area which has a dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer.

The house has a porch that stretches right around the house with outdoor furniture, seating and braai facilities. The house is very child friendly with a large climbing frame in the garden. Parents can relax on the bench on the veranda and enjoy a braai while the children play on the climbing frame or in the garden.

This charming, older house in Hermanus is walking distance from the Old Town center and the seafront. It is about a seven-minute walk from the Marine Tide Pool, the Old Harbor and the popular Hermanus Rock Roads. All the Hermanus beaches and the lagoon are in Voëlklip and it is only 7 kilometers away. Hoyskoppie and Fernkloof Nature Reserve are only a short distance away. Guests can not walk to the Hermanus Saturday Morning Market or drive to The Market in Sandbaai. Hermanus High School, Hermanus Primary School, Generation School, sports fields and sports clubs are all within walking distance of the house.

The property is fully fenced and has an electric gate. There is excellent security with Trellidor security gates and armed response. There is parking for one vehicle on the premises. The cottage is eco-friendly and uses solar power, a gas stove and pit irrigation in the garden.
