Situated near Fouriesburg, bordering the Free State and Lesotho border, you will find the working farms of Fairview Estates.Fairview Estates consists of the Inhoek where the Twin Towers as well as Damn Caravan are located and De Rust where the cottage is situated. Farming of cattle, Estancia Alpacas, as well as maize and beans take place here. The owners have recently started breeding appaloosa horses. The owners Wood is supplied for one night and guests can buy wood from the staff, R20 per bag.De Rust Farm Cottage offers a comfortable atmosphere and can only be reached by a 4x2 diff-lock vehicle. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a stove, cutlery and crockery as well as a fridge-freezer. The lounge is furnished with comfortable couches and equipped with a CD player. The cottage has a fireplace indoors, and an outdoor braai and Weber, but guests need to bring their own charcoal. Please note a minimum charge of R1600 is applicable for this cottage.The Twin Towers has four levels and is perfect for a family or a group. An entertainment area is equipped with an eight-seater table and a gas braai with. A Weber is available on request. The cottage and the Twin Towers are supplied with oil heaters, electric blankets and linen and towels. Cleaning services are available at an additional cost. Please note that the Twin Towers is not recommended for guests with children under the age of four due to the open spiral staircase. Please note a minimum charge of R1800 is applicable for this unit.The Damn Caravan is a converted park home that is beautifully decorated inside and is located near the dam. The caravan does not have electricity but operates on gas and candles only. The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge-freezer and a gas stove. The lounge has a wood-burning stove and there is an open-pit braai area. Please note a minimum charge of R1520 is applicable for this unit.The sandstone house, Opstal, offers guests six bedrooms with three bathrooms. Linen and electrical blankets are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped kitchen and guests can enjoy meals in the dining room. The lounge has a fireplace and braai facilities are available on the veranda. The house can be serviced at R120 a day. A minimum of R1800 per day is applicable. No formal activities are arranged, but guests looking for new places to see can visit the Ash River Outfall near Clarens, the Basotho Cultural Village, and the Bushmen Paintings at Schaapplaat. The working farms of Fairview Estates offer breathtaking scenery and the chance to truly escape from civilization.
