Welcome to Gala-Gala Eco Resort. The word Gala-Gala means Gecko in the local dialect. The bush surroundings we enjoy are teaming with many Geckos so this was the inspiration for our new name. The biodiversity of the area in and around the resort is extensive with an impressive variety of birds, butterflies and other indigenous and interesting wildlife.

Gala-Gala Eco Resort offers both the space and scenery for those who want to be away from the busy town, and a large number of activities for people looking for an active and social holiday. The resort offers different choices of accommodation from exclusive private deluxe en-suite cabanas, to standard cabanas with social communal facilities to private camp sites with their own bathrooms.

Only 1km from the markets of Ponta d Ouro you are treated to easy access to the vibe of the village but then you can retreat to the quiet of our resort to relax and unwind. We offer the flexibility of self-catering for those who prefer to do their own thing or if you really want a spoil let us treat you to a taste sensation with our tailored catered packages.

The beautiful long stretches of beach in and around Ponta do Ouro are perfect for every type of beach activity, whether you are looking for fun and activity on the beach with family and friends or a quiet space to relax and reflect, this coastline offers it all.

Our on-site dive charter can assist with all your diving needs plus we offer several other excursion options including swimming with the dolphins, a coastal snorkelling excursion including a picnic on the beach, quad bike trips and an extensive birding list of the area. Ponta do Ouro is also a popular destination for surfers, kite surfers and deep-sea fishing enthusiasts.
