Welcome to Gonjah Chalet.

Gonjah Chalet is located amongst the indigenous forest just outside of Patensie in the Gamtoos River Valley. The property offers a cosy cottage sleeping four guests, as well as a campsite. The accommodation offers an ideal location for those looking for a rural yet comfortable stay. The chalet is fully equipped for self-catering and offers two small bedrooms. The lounge area has a cosy fireplace and leads into the open-plan dining area and kitchen. There is no electricity but gas, and a braai facility is available on the open deck. This is the ideal spot to do some bird watching and enjoy the fresh air.

The campsite is set next to a mountain stream and is surrounded by yellowwood trees. Basic facilities are available with showers and flush toilets. Bring own braai wood for a warm camp fire and to stoke the donkey for that hot shower. Guests need to bring own lighting and headlights to walk at night. Activities in the area include two 4X4 trails, hiking trails, fresh water fishing, cycling trails and a golf course is just 15 km away. The region is well-known for its isolation and tranquility.

Inner Peace by

If you are looking for peace and quiet (except for natures sounds), and solitude, then this is the place to go. The cottage is very comfortable and lacks nothing. The deck is huge and lovely to sit on under the beautiful tree that grows through the deck. There are 2 4x4 trails to do, and are not too technical. The streams are beautiful. I went there to reconnect with nature and myself, and I accomplished just that in Gonjah. Will definitely be going back!
