Hartley House is located in the beautiful town of St Francis Bay in the eastern cape. St Francis Bay is the jewel of the Garden Route and is situated approximately one hour from Port Elizabeth. It is the ideal place to start your journey into the incredible garden route or to come and relax and enjoy the wonders of St Francis Bay and surrounding areas.

Our beautiful Guest House has one of the most tranquil positions on the canals, brimming with wildlife and beautiful views, offering guests private rooms with their own entrances. All our rooms lead out onto a beautiful indigenous garden that flows down to the water's edge where you can sit and enjoy a freshly ground coffee at sunrise, spend your day lying in the sun reading a book, and end your day with a sundowner listening to the ocean sounds in the background.

Our beautiful rooms have private entrances, with en-suite shower and bath options. All beds are extra length and are top quality to ensure a wonderful night's sleep. Only 100% cotton percale linen is used and all rooms have tea/coffee facilities, hairdryers, heater blankets, Towels, guest amenities, televisions, and Wi-Fi.

Included in your stay is a breakfast voucher for the lovely Rambling Rose , Quayside restaurant or Bruce's coffee shop. 2 rooms are adjacent to each other and are perfect for people traveling with children. The house boasts a lovely protected patio with barbecue facilities available for guest use.

Hullets, Seal point, Seal Bay, and last but not least the world-famous Jeffrey's bay. If you don't have surfboards or don't like the hassle of traveling with them then you can rent one for the duration of your stay or just on a daily basis. For the colder days, we also have a range of wet-suits that you can hire too. If you are a beginner and want to learn to surf we can also arrange surf lessons with one of the local surfers.
