Heidelberg LogeHeidelberg (GP), Gauteng, South Africa Gästehaus (Familieneinheiten ab R 1,000) | R 1,000 |
Heidelberg Lodge is a 100-year old house which takes you back in time with its original wooden floors and high ceilings. The guest house is situated in Heidelberg which lies just off the N3 highway and roughly 50 km outside of Johannesburg, at the foot of the Suikerbosrand.
The house offers four en-suite rooms, all are beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished with some connected to the garden. There is a lovely dining area as well as a kitchen for guests to use. Each room has its own fridge, microwave and TV. Two of the rooms have their original fireplaces for the cosy winter nights.
We are within walking distance from all the shops with secure and safe parking available. We also have a heated splash pool with a braai area for all the guests to make use off.
The Heidelberg Transport Museum is housed in the old sandstone railway station, and the Dutch Reformed church is a provincial heritage site.
Another reason why visitors head out to Heidelberg is to visit the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, a fair-size nature reserve named after the sugar bush or Protea Caffra. It lies within an hour's drive of the city and its major feature is the Suikerbos Mountain Range that serves as the backdrop to a network of backpacking hiking trails.
