Island Cottage is situated on Shark Island, only 800 m from the surreal colonial town of Lüderitz. As the island is joined to the mainland via a causeway, the Island Cottage is a convenient stop over when visiting the local attractions of this coastal town. The cottage is well located with guest rooms offering great sea views.This is a self-catering establishment with basic kitchen facilities designed for guests to prepare and enjoy a breakfast, lunch or meat on a braai. For those not wishing to self-cater, the management will be pleased to recommend a local restaurant or bar.All three of the cottages have spectacular sea views. For your leisure there are braai facilities with patios overlooking the lagoon; all wood, blitz and matches will be supplied for you. Your rooms will be cleaned daily for your convenience, but if you don't want this extra service, please inform us the day before. Please also note that all the cottages are non-smoking.Lüderitz has everything one would expect from a German town including delicatessens, coffee shops and Lutheran churches. The nearby icy Atlantic Ocean is home to seals, penguins and other interesting marine life.NEWLY ADDED: THE COTTAGE SPA RETREATVarious relaxing treatments are on offer. We absolutely loved staying at Island Cottage. We were a family travelling and booked 3 very clean cottages, all with awesome views of the ocean. The small personal items that were added to our rooms, made our stay a memorable one. Our only regret, we only stayed one night.
