I was most impressed in the helpfulness of the staff in accommodating our rather unusually composed family group Including grandparents, 30-something siblings and teenagers, which changed in numbers and dates, as well as notifying us promptly of our left-behind items, and providing a really splendid Karoo dinner and breakfast! Highly recommended.

Good place to stop for the night. We will be back this year. Roos family.

Not recommended! by

This picture what you see is not what we saw at all!  We went on a "stoepsit" roadtrip for 12 days and at this lodge we had to drag our room chairs out on the parkingbay with our only view the razorwire fence!  Nothing colonial or Karoo friendly.  No stoep or garden sitting, no chef specials.  Please put a more realistic photo of outdoor (garden!!) rooms.  Personnel can really be more friendly.

There must have been a misunderstanding, as all our rooms' guests are allowed to use our  stoep at the main house as well as the chairs and tables in the garden.  (as displayed on our photos on our gallery)
 
We are currently referring all our guest to restaurants in town for dinner, which are all nearby.

CLEAN, SPACIOUS, A ABSOLUTE BLESSING by

The cutlery and coffee mugs weren't clean. For the rest of Room 9 where we stayed - a absolute A+. Thank you. We'll surely see you again.

bad bad bad by

No hot water and bad smelly sheets,

Establishments response:

We recently had a big storm in Middelburg and all our garden rooms were flooded. We removed all the carpets and wooden floors and it was replace with new floors. The rooms were painted and repaired where necessary. Linen were cleaned and alsor eplaced where applicable.

The contractor finished the work on Friday, the day Mrs Clarke arrived. Unfortunately there was one pipe which he did not connect and as a result of this, the rooms had no hot water the next morning. I (owner) and my managers were not aware of this pipe problem until the guests informed my manager on duty that there was no hot water. The contractor was informed and the pipe was connected again.

We do apologize for the inconvenience caused.
