Kingfisher Heads is situated in Velddrif, one of the small fishing villages that dot this part of the 'forgotten' West Coast. Velddrif lies just a few kilometres from where the Berg River meets the sea at St Helena Bay.
This self-catering apartment is located on the waterfront on the ground floor. It consists of two bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, an open-plan fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area that flows onto the patio and lawns overlooking the Berg River with its rich bird life. All linen and towels are provided.
The historical Bokkom Laan is on your doorstep and offers boat trips, a restaurant and an art gallery. This is the perfect base from which to explore the West Coast, Rocher Pan Nature Reserve, West Coast Park, and the fossil park. Wild flowers can be viewed in season. Activities include 4x4 trips, hiking, fishing, sailing, golf and squash.
Villages are where visitors are greeted with silence, there is space to explore and where time slows inexplicably. What appears to be a barren, windswept landscape is simply an illusion that disappears when the richness of bird life, plant life and the sea reveal their true natures and the fynbos works its charm on all who come here.
