Kliprivier Guest Farm is situated near Nieuwoudtville in Namaqualand, well-known as the bulb capital of the world. When staying on the lovely Kliprivier Farm, guests have a choice of staying in the Kliprivier Apartment, the Kraaifontein Cottage or the Suikerbekkie Apartment.
Kliprivier is a comfortable apartment situated near the main homestead. The unit has two bedrooms furnished with a double and two single beds respectively and a shared bathroom with a bath and a shower. Linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and is suitable for paraplegics. Guests also have use of a lock-up garage with an entrance the apartment.
Suikerbekkie is situated next to the main house, but has a private entrance. The apartment has a kitchen equipped with a microwave and cutlery. Furnished with two single beds, the unit also has an en-suite bathroom and linen and towels are provided.
Kraaifontein is an attractive thatched cottage that dates back to the 18th Century and is surrounded by beautiful veld. The cottage was built by the settled 'trekboere' and was restored in 1991. The cottage has one double and two single beds and the bathroom has a shower only, with hot water provided by the gas geyser. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and has a lovely fireplace for those chilly winter nights.
The dam nearby offers great birdwatching opportunities. Every year during springtime, a miracle unfurls when the Namaqualand area is transformed into a brilliant kaleidoscope of flowers. The Nieuwoudtville Waterfall Reserve is situated about 6 km outside Nieuwoudtville and is an amazing site after a good rain fall. Guests can also see bushmen drawings, do 4x4 routes and, at night, just sit back and watch the stars.
