Kurhula Wildlife Lodge is situated on the banks of the Olifants River in Balule, Parsons Nature Reserve. Balule Private Nature Reserve borders the Kruger Nation Park. Most of the fences between the Kruger Park and bordering private nature reserves have been removed so animals can move around freely. From Kurhula Wildlife Lodge you can access the Kruger Park for a day trip via the Phalaborwa ((1-hour drive) or Open gate (1.5-hour drive). Kurhula Wildlife Lodge is particularly valued for its high personal service, excellent home cooked cuisine and beautiful surroundings. Our aim is not to show our guests the Big Five, but to educate them about the synergy between animals, flora and human being. The best of ?in the heart of nature' in combination with western comforts, contributes to a unique experience! Lodge's location makes it possible to see several highlights of the area within one and a half hours reach. After an exciting day, you can relax at Kurhula Wildlife Lodge.Kurhula Wildlife Lodge has four double rooms. Two rooms under one thatch roof with a veranda in front. From your outside seating, you have an exquisite view of the Olifants river. We encourage our guests to live outside and enjoy the beauty of the bush. Our small but cosy rooms have extra length beds, air conditioning, mosquito nets, a fridge, safe, hairdryer, wardrobe and coffee and tea facilities. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, toilet and a double basin. All accommodation is on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (DBB), serving a sumptuous breakfast on the veranda of the main lodge. At night, we serve an African three course meal with a European touch. We only work with fresh, seasonal and local products. Every room has a fridge so you can bring something to eat and drink for lunch yourself. Should you have any special dietary requirements please notify us beforehand and we will make sure that all requests are met. You can eat at one table and share your stories with other guests or dine private. PLEASE NOTE: Kurhula Lodge is situated in Balule, Parsons Nature Reserve and can only be reached via a 12-kilometre dirt road. This road consists mainly of gravel, stones and sand so we highly recommend a 4x2 or 4x4 vehicle. The speed limit in the reserve is 30 km an hour.
