Kwalala Lodge is found in Pongola in KwaZulu-Natal and with 19 bedrooms this is the perfect place for groups or individual travellers. Kwalala Lodge has easy access to many private games reserves and other attractions.

The twenty bedroom units have double beds and en-suite bathrooms with showers. The bedrooms are equipped with bar fridges, TVs and air-conditioners ensuring a comfortable stay. Guests are able to make use of the swimming pool and laundry room. There is safe parking for vehicles. Dinner can be arranged by prior notice.

Pongolapoort Game Reserve is home to the Pongolapoort Dam known as Lake Jozini, which is known for its great tiger fishing. Visitors can launch their boats here or just drive around the reserve enjoying the beauty of the land. The areas around the reserve are mainly protected or run as private game reserves. Pongola boats a 9-hole golf course as well as other sporting facilities.

Quite a surprise! by

From the outside we wouldn't have been enticed in and our first reaction wasn't great. However from that point on everything just got better and better. The room was excellent. It was very well equipped and the bed and bedding exquisite. Then we had dinner which was outstanding. A very comfortable stay.

Pongola's best kept secret by

I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively both in S.A. and Internationally and my basis of this review is benchmarked and based on those travels. Kwa Lala although listed as a B&B is more than that. The hospitality from the moment you arrive at reception is that of genuine warmth and welcoming, not by just anyone, but by the owner. Nothing is left to chance. The Bedroom is homely and spotless. The "Pub" has a homely feel where you quickly engage with fellow residents. The Dinner is like it was prepared by the winner of "Master Chef" but in a homely ambiance. I recommend that a stay in and around Pongola should have Kwa Lala as the base for your touring. We spent 1 night here as we travelled to Mozambique and we found the accommodation to be very comfortable, clean and well decorated. We had dinner as well, which was beautifully presented and really delicious! The owners are very friendly and interact with the guests to ensure that they are satisfied. Highly recommended.
